The Madras Mail train is a method of transportation in 80 Days. It is a railway line connecting Bombay with Madras via Bangalore. Passepartou can meet Anne-Marie Spencer, a young girl in a wheelchair on the observation deck. She is drawing many pictures of inferior quality but seems to be a good judge of people. She also appears to know Passepartout's name. While on board, Passepartout loses his passport, which turns out to be the young girl's doing. If Passerpartout confronts her and acts quickly, he may save the travellers from a long delay.
