Tourist attractions in Freetown include the ancient cotton tree growing in the city centre (a monument to freed slaves) and the oldest University in West Africa.
Passepartout may start up a conversation with a Yoruba woman, Ojuolape who has recently been freed from a slave ship. She informs the valet that she is travelling onwards to Timbuktu from the city, but the journey is a long and ardous one.
