Pitcairn Island is a location in 80 Days. It is situated in the southern Pacific Ocean.Pitcairn Island was once settled solely by the survivors of a shipwrecked mutiny of HMS Bounty.
Description[]
The population of the island is exactly 54 people (based on 'rough census' by Passepartout). Consists of 13 council members, 12 minor citizens, 8 seniors, one 'mentally-ill' person, and 20 'revolutionaries' (which in Passepartout's opinion, were nothing but empty threats). The island's areas were named with rather witty and uninspired names, such as "Ugly Name Side".or "Oh Dear".
As a result of being isolated in the middle of Pacific Ocean, most people of this island believe that the island is the only existing land in the world while the rest of the world is covered by endless ocean and the boats and ships are nothing more but some particular kind of cloud formation. It is in opposition to the "Wider World Theory" which is the belief that the world is much larger and there is more land on the other side of the world. Its citizens speaks English although they believe that they are actually speaking "Pitcairnian".

Fogg displays a rare interest in the island upon arrival, In there, they traveled around the island and they also talk about their journey around the world. But they remained skeptical and doesn't believe that the world was in fact much larger than they think. Even as well as questioning Passepartout's existence.
If Passepartout traveled to Pitcairn Island and has the full projector from Helena Kapodistrias in Alexandria in his possession, he can use it on the island. By traveling to a cave, Passepartout is given the option to place the projector. If he does so, the projector will reveal an Incan man using a secret tunnel. Passepartout will inevitably fall into the tunnel, and winds up in Machu Picchu, thus completing the "Spend a Night in Machu Picchu" achievement.
