Rome is a location in 80 Days. It is the capital of Italy and is located in the middle of the Italian Penisula.
Despite being a place of antiquity and history, Rome does show disturbing signs of modernisation, particularly in the Bersaglieri - soldiers that are half-man half-automaton. These "upgrades" have not proved popular with some, who rebel violently against the "Scuola" (a breakaway sect of Artificers Guild mentioned in Venice).
During a skirmish at Trevi fountain, Passepartout may meet Alexandre Dubois who will tell him of a friend in the Bucharest outpost of the Artificers Guild. Should their talk turn to the Artificers and the Bucharest outpost, Passepartout can feign desperation at the length of the journey, but Dubois will offer them the comfort of a flight to the city.
