Still, if bananas were to be the worst of my troubles aboard this boat, then that would be no bad thing.

Passepartout's journal

The Banana Boat is a cargo steam-barge which travels between Honolulu and San Francisco. The ship carries passengers and, unsurprisingly, a vast quantity of bananas.

The banana boat is captained by Captain Kalani, a Hawaiian woman who is heavily pregnant but forced to continue working after the child's father runs off. En route to San Francisco she will go into labor and ask for Passepartout and Fogg's assistance in delivering the baby. If Passepartout helps her, she will name the child - a girl - "Jean" in his honour. Despite the incident, the banana boat arrives in San Francisco on schedule.

Fogg also experiences a sleepwalking episode on board the banana boat and sneaks into Passepartout's room in the dead of night, scaring him half to death.

Trivia Edit

  • Upon disembarking in San Francisco, Fogg's dialogue bubble will read "It was a girl, Passepartout! A girl!"
